Kids room decorating ideas

your children's old clothes? If you're handy with a sewing machine you can create a quilt or a pillow by using cuts from your kids old clothes.

Many photo stores or printing shops can also transfer your favorite photos onto fabrics. Choose some favorite memories, or better yet have your children choose their favorite memories from photos and have them transposed onto fabric. Create pillows, curtains or quilts from the photos that your child will love.

CRAFT CORNER

Using a desk and some simple storage solutions, create a craft corner in your child's room. Have pencils, crayons, paper, glitter and scissors available at all times so your kids can be creative any time they wish.

READING AND RELAXING CORNER

Purchase some large floor cushions and place your children's books and bookcase within a corner of their bedroom of playroom. Have the cushions on the floor so they made curl up and read a book any time they wish.

INNOVATIVE SHELVING IDEAS FOR KIDS ROOMS

Shelves can be used to place dolls, books, trophies and other bric-a-brac your child collects. But you can be creative when it comes to the type of shelves they have in their rooms. Use old skateboards, a surfboard or even the base of a scooter and attach to the wall for innovative shelving ideas.

INNOVATIVE WINDOW TREATMENTS

Use an old boat oar, ribbon baton or old fishing rod that can be used as a curtain rod. Window furnishings need not be boring but by being creative you can add plenty of flare to the dullest of curtains.

Create a window box that goes around the side of the curtain that will hide all the window furniture such as rods, rails and hoops. Stencil designs, paint or stick photos along it to brighten up your child's room.

BED CURTAINS AND CEILING DRAPERY

Being creative with fabric and creating curtains or drapes around the room can brighten many rooms up. Using organza or other soft fabric and using a hoop, create bed curtains that drape from the ceiling.

Fabric can also be tacked onto the ceiling to create a wispy effect of clouds and billows of fabric from the ceiling.

There are so many fun and creative things you can do in a child's room that will make it a fun and exciting place to rest or play. Visit second hand stores to cut down costs on any furniture you may require or visit online stores that offer discounts. Fun and innovative things are being designed for children all the time; take your time to browse furniture or children's bedroom stores to give you many fun and creative ideas to use in your children's rooms.
