Getting a car loan while you have less than perfect credit isn't as hard as you might think since there are now many car dealerships that will offer to finance individuals as long as they have a job and a down payment. You must be aware that these dealerships will often have on-time boxes on their vehicles that they finance and if you don't make the payment on time then your car will shut off.
If you are curious about these types of car dealerships then you should do a search on the internet for dealerships that do not check your credit and see what you can come up with. One dealership that I do business with is Shields Credit Connection in Oklahoma City
and they do not check your credit and they often have a variety of cars and other vehicles available for financing.
One the down side of these dealerships is that they often finance their vehicles as is and this means that if they default at all after the lemon law expires on them then it is your responsibility to get the vehicle fixed. One of the upsides to car dealerships like these is that they often finance auto mechanic work so you can have your vehicle fixed now and pay for it over time.
If you are curious as to whether or not it is worth it I would have to say that it all depends on your ability to get a car loan from another company and how bad you need a vehicle. If you are in need of a vehicle and can't seem to get a car loan from another company then purchasing a vehicle from an as is dealership might be a great option for you.
If you are having issues coming up with the down payment for a vehicle then most dealerships like these will often allow you to pay the down payment over time unlike a lot of other dealerships who want it all upfront before allowing you to finance a vehicle.
One thing that many people with bad credit don't realize is that there are certain places out there that understand that not everyone has perfect credit. Used car dealerships take a risk when they finance to individuals who have bad credit but they know that it is a risk that is worth taking since many customers will continue to purchase off of them once they see how easy it is. Most car dealerships would rather sell twelve vehicles to one customer over a lifetime than to only have sold that customer one car and this is why it is a risk worth taking for them.
I can't say that going to one of these dealerships is the right thing to do for everyone but it is defiantly an option worth looking at for you and many people like you if you have bad credit but still need a car loan.
