Sam and Emma's Guide to Life
Hello! We are Italian Greyhounds. We're six months old, full of beans, and love to tell stories. Here's our guide to an awesome dog life.
-
Part One: Mmm... Kibble...
We eat three times a day! We like the round, crunchy brown stuff that our humans keep in the kitchen. We each get about half a cup of kibble in our silver bowls.
Emma: I love this part. I always sit and show my manners.
Sam: I always finish eating first, and then I try to help Emma finish hers. She doesn't like that, and neither do my humans. They always pet me and don't let me eat her food.
Emma: I've lost a couple of baby teeth at the back of my mouth, so food gets caught back there when I eat. My humans usually help me out with this. They can show you how.
After we're done eating, the humans rinse out our bowls and fill them with fresh water. They put the bowls in the hallway closet, near our bed.
-
Part TWO: AHHH... Rest...
We spend our alone-time in our play area in the hallway. The humans say it keeps us safe. We think they mean it keeps us out of trouble...
Emma: This part's alright... I guess...
Sam: Emma ALWAYS tries to escape and make a mess, so my humans lock the gate when they leave, and they make sure that all the hallway doors are closed (except the closet where we sleep and eat!).
Emma: I'm good at tearing up the puppy pad that we use as a bathroom. My humans don't like it when I do that, but sometimes I get lonely... They usually put the mess in a garbage bag and then it disappears.
Sam: Emma's kinda weird sometimes. She plays with her poop. I think girls are gross.
When the humans leave, they make sure we have some toys to play with, some water to drink, and a light on so we can see. Sometimes they leave the TV on to keep us company.
-
Part THREE: PLAY! OUR FAVOURITE THING!
Our favourite time of day is anytime we have human company. You can pretty much visit us anytime and we'll be SUPER happy to see you. We like to run and rough-house and cuddle on the couch. Spend as much time with us as you want!
Sam: My favourite toy is the blue squeaky one.
Emma: My favourite toy is the yellow ducky.
Sam: We know tricks, too, like Sit, Up, Paw, and Take It. I learned Paw faster than Emma did.
Emma: ...I had kibble stuck in my mouth. I couldn't concentrate.
Sam: We'd LOOOVE to fall asleep in your lap...
Emma: THIS is my favourite part.
Sam: Me too...
