Poetry: This is not a family

by Michelle Gilmour

Created on: January 05, 2009

What kind of family

I don't want your conditional love

Keep your ignorance

And the lies that help you sleep

I am just the black sheep

The self-destructive time bomb

Tick-tick-tick

Get the hell away from me

I make everything bleed

Tug, tug, tug

Tug my chains some more

You live my life for me

You keep me locked up

On this cold, hard concrete

But screw you

My chains have broke

And I'm running free
