Developed countries with the highest crime rates

At this day and age most developed and underdevelopped countries live violent attacks on its citizens by different means and different reasons; Colombia has the ASFARC, a terrorist group that kidnaps for political reasons, El Salvador has the guerrilla, which attacks and kills on side roads. Venezuela lives violence through the command of its president Hugo Chavez, anybody who dissents of his ideology or mandate is executed mafia style, mostly reporters although students and business men have suffered the same fate just for out speaking disagreement with the president or his politics.

Mexico is at the moment the most violent city in Latin America, it all started back in late 2001 when president elect Vicente Fox decided to clean the police force from undesirable elements, and mandate a drug test on the force, thousands of police members were fired on the spot. Those same police officers, knowing the ins and outs of standard procedure turned their skills and abilities to commit crimes in order to support their families and vices. The Judicial police in Mexico was already one of the most corrupts bodies in law and order around the world; they turned into vicious experienced criminals who kidnapped citizens for big amounts of ransom.

Currently, Mexico faces the war between drug lords and the rest of the population, either civilian, military or police. In the past year, there has been a wave of murders committed on Grupero singers (sort of like country singers) leaving beheaded bodies everywhere, police officers, and army personnel have had the same fate. Drug lords have stated recently that for each of their members killed they would kill ten law and order personnel. Chihuahua, one of the northern states is terrorized by the rape and killing of thousands of women without a clue on to who is doing such atrocities.

Tourists have been scared away from going south of the border because of this ordeal, which is a shame because Mexico is a beautiful country with warm people and excellent customer service, rich in its traditions and culinary culture.

If we travel abroad, Somalia and Darfur have their fare share of violence, Georgia had just have a violent attack from Georgia, just to name a few others. The middle east region, particularly Israel, and the Gaza strip at the moment, where violence has been an every day practice for centuries has to be mentioned as well.

But not only have underdeveloped countries lived violence on their streets, the US experiences brutal crimes every day, on the streets, at restaurants, malls, schools and churches, with no respect for human life whatsoever. Some of the most gruesome crimes are commited by family members and gang members. Spain is another country that sees its peace broken by ETA, the terrorist Islamic group that forced Spain out of the Collision of the Willing with the simultaneous bombing in two trains, right after this event, Spain withdrew its troops from Iraq.

We live violent times, and according to scripture, the Mayan, Edgard Casey, and Nostradamus prophecies it is going to get a lot worse before it gets any better, if ever.
