There is nothing better on a Walt Disney World vacation than staying on the Disney Property. While staying on Disney property can be very expensive, there are some options for the traveler who can not afford a $300 per night room. With rooms from $82 to $160 per night depending on time of year, Disney's Pop Century is one of the options.
Disney's Pop Century opened on December 14, 2003 with 2,880 rooms divided into five theme sections. The themes are the 1950's, 1960's, 1970's, 1980's and 1990's. Originally Pop Century was supposed to have five more sections with themes from the 1900's to the 1940's, however, when attendance declined after the 9-11 terrorist attacks, this portion of the hotel was canceled. Each of the five themed sections have icons of the era decorating the out side of the resort. The Pop jet playground is located in the 1970's section of the resort. There is also a coin operated laundry mat located near each of the three pools.
