I'll give my Top 50 players ever with a short comment for the top 8.

1. Michael Jordan - great offensive player, great defensive player, and always seemed to be in control late in the game.
2. Larry Bird - one of the best shooters ever, unbelievable passer, good rebounder and defender. Great all-around player.
3. Magic Johnson - maybe the best passer of all-time, and just made everyone around him better.

4. Wilt Chamberlain - most dominant post scorer ever.
5. Bill Russell - maybe the best defensive player ever to play basketball.
6. Oscar Robertson - the human triple double.
7. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar - the sky hook... had great longevity to go along with his dominance.
8. Shaquille O'Neal* - at his peak was the most dominant player in the NBA for years. Still active but not what he once was.
