Well I was under the impression that any kind of drug took in excess could lead to addiction. I believe that "club drugs" are not only addictive but very dangerous and can cause reckless foolish behavior.
I've heard of ecstasy and I've did some research on others. I do not know why anyone in their "right mind" would take these kinds of drugs just for thrill reasons. After searching on detailed info about club drugs I came across many things.
I found out that they have countless disastrous side effects from addictive usage, which can range from unconsciousness, to loss of sleep, loss of appetite, leading to malnutrition, high blood pressure, and even death.
To be honest, I do not see any difference among these drugs than I do in other kinds drugs, such as heroin or PCP. I strongly believe that once a person "pops a pill" they will get that infamous rush, from then on as they continue to rave or party they will frequently start to divert from going out and having just a good time.
They will soon think that without the aid of a "club drug" they will not get that sudden rush or thrill. They pop another and so on and so until eventually they will probably just start taking them in any random scenario just for that escape.
I really was not aware that club drugs had been around so long before my research so it was a great "thrill" to find out more about these different kinds of drugs.
I learned more about ecstasy and the infamous date rape drug as well as several others. Some researchers say that ecstasy cannot cause physical dependency but I am not to sure about this because I've seen cases where people are desperately stressed without the aid of this drug. Ecstasy has also been attributed with the damage of the memory and serotonin levels in the brain.
To combat the use of these club drugs, there is something called the anti-Rave act in which business owners can be prosecuted for hosting raves or parties if the participants are attributed with using such drugs.
Bottom line, America has been hit with the onslaught of the club drug epidemic in last 20 years or so and from careful observation of these drugs, Yes, they can be addictive and lead to other dangerous life altering side effects.
I would suggest for the common raver or party goer to try to find a new means of getting a thrill to the music. Something you know, less delusional in concept and nature.
So in all actuality, club drugs are really nothing but instant thrills in a pumped up hallucinogenic environment that will be sure to leave you begging for more, literally.
