Poetry: The 80's

Back in the 80's..........

Torn shirts and wild hair
Hard rock was a ride,
Creating who I was
Funky images outside.

Drank beer with the boys
Journey on the fly,
4x4's and mud
In the 80's we got high.

Girls by our sides
Our spirits were free,
Didn't touch that white stuff
Addiction I could see.

A toupee across my lip
Championship stash,
One of my favorite bands
Return of the Clash.

I stared at the moon
Mr. Jackson did his walk,
Ripped jeans a hole
We always talked the talk.

Cigarette smoke mouth
Butt out, Ash brain,
Billowy disco's drown out
Synthesizers take aim.

Boy George was out
A welcoming time for him,
I never understood this
With my arm around Kim.

Oh Madonna
Miss Americas eye,
Miss blond bombshell
Leotard not shy.

Super Mario became my brother
Breaking blocks of fun,
Pasty white skin
I stayed out of the sun.

I remember it all
Back in the 80's,
Time of my life
Neon colors and ladies.
