Venturing Alone
Bravely
I climb the crooked tree
Each time daring further
Confidence
Flows through me
Over the first knot; the second
Never been this far before
Reaching the part that stretches
Over the creek,
I look down at the slow moving water
Immobilized
Unable to move forward or turn back
Not the height that scares me;
Nor the water
What then?
Fear
Of the unknown
Of venturing out alone
Overcome
I cry out for my diddy
He emerges from the house to rescue me
Again
