Being an entrepreneur means living life to the fullest without worrying about finances. It is being free to do what you want to do. For me becoming an entrepreneur has been a life long obsession. There have been nights when I went to sleep thinking about how my life would be if I was doing what I loved doing while getting paid to do it. It would be the perfect combination. Sometimes I would sit still and listen to my heart. No matter what, I'd get that feeling. It is more of an intuition. I know I need to be doing more with what God has given me. It is a deep still voice saying " You have it, use it,".
Since the age of 11 I've had this spirit innovation. I always saw myself being in front of a computer selling items and checking over invoices. I saw myself filling orders over the phone and on line. I'd be speaking to clients. I'd be shipping products to various customers. It felt right. The dreams have become more intense over the years.
When I was 12 I actually started an organization called " T. A. C." It stood for the activity club. My role was president and my sister's was vice president. The club was very successful because it raised capital for the neighborhood children. The purpose of the money was to purchase school supplies. We raised about $200. Back then that was a significant amount of money. We did it through bake sales and yard sales. When I think back that was one of the happiest times in my life. At that very moment I felt whole and secure. I felt complete because I was using what God gave me to reach others. That is the best feeling anyone can have. When you do what you are meant to do, this overwhelming feeling of rightness comes over you. To this day, I never forget.
Being an entrepreneur for me also means freedom and creativity. When you are the one in charge you can make your business anything you want to make it. That is the beauty of it. Sky is the limit. You know the saying. Your mindset determines your success.
Over all becoming my own boss is a dream I'd look to bring to reality. The fire inside me continues to burn like no other. Sometimes I can't sleep because the calling in my soul is so strong. It is my purpose and the only time I feel totally comfortable. I can be whom I was meant to be. My message here today is to be who you want to be. the only way you can do that is being your own boss and calling the shots. If you work for someone else all your life, you will never know what it feels like to be financially free because they get most of the profits.
