The authenticity of the Bible is a much-debated subject. Over 40 authors gave us this book through the leading of the Holy Spirit while maintaining their personalities and styles of writing.
Why do people disbelieve God in this or any area? Because they have taken their faith for granted and allow themselves to be swayed by often non-Christians or Christians who are not close to God. What you believe about the power of God will influence all of your life and how it turns out. It is a pivotal question that the enemy loves for us to answer in the negative.
The Bible is a book that is holy because God gave it to us. However if your idea of God's power is too limited then you will not believe that God could maintain the Bible in the way it should be.
If you beleive God is Almighty and can do anything, then you will believe He can maintain the integrity of His Word, the Bible. If you are a doubting person swayed by the beliefs of people who don't even know the Lord, then you will not believe what God can do.
Each of us has a choice to believe God or not. We have many times in our lives when God has intervened and saved us from harm but still we fail sometimes to remember how great God is. We are like the Israelites who saw God's power everyday but could never put it together that God was able to take care of them.
For instance, God had just rescued them from Egypt with powerful plagues that drove the Egyptians into surrender, yet they could not believe God to take care of them. What a shame to them.
But we do the same thing sometimes. We have a multitude of instances in our lives when God has taken care of us yet when trouble comes we seem to need to learn this lesson all over again instead of believing what we laready know about God's love for us.
The disciples had the same problem. They had seen many miracles, more than any of us have ever seen, yet they did not connect the dots that Jesus could do anything. They were afraid and doubting much of their three years with Jesus before His resurrection. The point is, do we learn from what God has done in our lives or do we just take it for granted and forget it?
It is the same with the Bible. There are always going to be skeptics about this subject but Christians should not be among them. Either you believe God can preserve His Word or you do not, end of story. Either God is powerful enough to do this or He is not. We each need to make up our own minds about this subject. What we choose will determine what kind of life we have. If we choose to believe God then we will have a rich life. Otherwise our life will be filled with fear and doubt for many years to come.
What is your choice on this subject today?
