Mother's Day: Best reasons to treat your mother like a queen

There are several reasons to treat your mother like a queen. Mothers are there to pick us up, patch us up and send us on our way. They nurture and encourage when things are not so good and mothers help us to keep things in perspective. Without our mothers, we would not exist. Biological or otherwise.

Mothers help to mold us and shape us, they carry burdens that would make the average person fall and break. All without knowing the half of the pressure they are under or the burdens that they carry. It is easy to take our mother for granted, easy to believe that things would be different for us if we had a different parent, but no one knows why we receive the mother that we have.

Mothers deserve the best, they deserve a night out to themselves and they deserve a break. It is difficult to describe the endless tasks that a mother performs and to try to lump it all into "Well because she's my mother" would be an injustice. The road to motherhood starts with wonder. "Will I be a good mother?" "What will my child look like?" and "How will my labor be?". Most mothers would even be able to tell you how long that labor was. Motherhood is full of uncertainties and even fear, but most times you wouldn't even know it. You may never see your mother cry or even know that she is burdened in any way. Mothers just carry the ball.

A mother's love is greater than the greatest feat, stronger than the strongest fort and wider than the longest or widest river. There is no measure to a mother's love and it grows with each child. Loving each child as if that love was always there. So what is the best reason to treat your mother like a queen. Is it because she was always there, because she picked you up when you fell down?

No. I believe the best reason to treat your mother like a queen is you! Without your mother, there would be no you. You would not exist. Your mothers, whether biological or not, consciously or not, helped to mold and shape you into the person that you are today. Mothers make sacrifices that only mothers would make and taking those sacrifices for granted is a sad disservice. Recognize that not all moms are the same and that different mothers make different sacrifices, for their children, for different reasons. Even the worst mom did what she did for...whatever her reason. It still doesn't change the fact that you are here because of her and that deserves at least a thank you.
