Short stories: Eerie tales

The mist was too thick to see through let alone run through, but Daniel Logos must keep running-or so he thought-to get away from whatever it was that was chasing him. From the shadowy, tall figures ahead he could tell he was heading into a forest but before he could take another step a loud beeping sound screamed in his ears. He clamped his hands to his ears. Yelled. Fell.

He awoke with an abrupt start, jolting as if he had been shocked. "Had I been shocked?" He thought, but the question was fuzzy and among many others now struggling to get to the surface of his consciousness. Thought was incredibly difficult, so was focusing his sight. He did not know where he was and that is all he managed to deduct with his presently limited faculties.

Daniel, in a state of confusion managed to speak to the guard while checking for any sign to either confirm or negate the man's being blind. "My name is Daniel Logos, and I do not know where I am or how I got here, could you tell me, that is, if you know anything?" he held his breath and stared intently at the officer, expectantly. "So....your finally awake again?" the man chuckled "Will you ever go to sleep without forgetting who you are and why you are here?" the question hung on the air and very slowly Daniel managed to figure
