The Blight of Media Bias: Is Objectivity Pass On Television News?
I can recall no time in our modern history that there has been a more biased media than in the current environment. As an example, could it be my imagination that I perceive the mostly liberal cable television networks, especially the likes of MSNBC, have taken it on themselves to vehemently jump on the President with a vengeance to take a few last swipes at the Bush piata?
Gleeful in their self - congratulating for helping - immensely - to get Barack Obama elected to the Presidency, they are now counting down the days until the anointing' of their savior' while also in the attack mode against GW. While eagerly awaiting Judgment Day'- January 20th - they seem determined to denigrate the sitting President in any manner possible objectivity be damned.
One of the latest attacks has been on the use of torture supposedly condoned and maybe encouraged by the President with the support of the Vice President. Chris Matthews (Hardball) and Keith Olbermann (Countdown), both MSNBC lefties, have been especially vehement to the point of pontificating on legal charges being appropriate indictments for war fighting basically. They liberally interpret the recently released Senate report concerning the subject as evidence of their new - found righteousness.
Matthews spits and fumes, sometimes losing control of his anger, when addressing the point whereas Olbermann is simply his vile self in his own inimitable, base deportment. I think he is serious about indicting the President and Vice President on charges of war crimes. Absolute nonsense fueled by hate!
Most amusing, perhaps, is MSNBC's new lefty, Rachel Maddow, in her nightly attempt at disparaging the current office holder with her rookie - and giggly segments on lame duckery' where she attempts to reveal the latest faux pas of the President while snidely snickering as if to point out more of his weaknesses and the waning time left she and us have to endure them. Gee, even the lighting of the White House Christmas tree was deemed somehow to be a good snickering point as compared to Obama's same day of promising us all prosperity when he takes office.
Enough already!
(Oh, where is Tim Russert when we need him most? He certainly would have reigned in such unprofessional journalistic behavior as is to be witnessed in prime time news at MSNBC.)
The left' has not cornered the market on media bias. To be fair, one must examine the likes of Limbaugh and O'Reilly as well
