Poetry: Lies

Lies.......

I tremble across from you
Staring into your big blue eyes,
Clenched fist, white knuckled
As your tongue unfolds its lies.

I grind my teeth together
An earthquake in my head,
It was just an old friend
Is what you bitterly said.

My chest a beating drum
Pumping hidden rage,
You pretend like nothing happened
Picking at a leafed sage.

My vision speckled white
I become reckless emotion,
Plates shatter on the ground
Its time for your deaths potion.

I let go of all control
And grip your frail neck,
Fear slips from objecting lips
As you hit our splintered deck.

I press down with all my weight
Its like emptying a sponge,
Our dog barks and disagrees
As it tries for one last lunge.

My shaking hands release
Your eyes roll into abyss,
Regret rushes through
There was no last kiss.

I sit across from you
Staring into your big blue eyes,
Clenched fist, white knuckled
All I ever hear are your lies.
