Animal Crossing is a life simulation game that happens in real time. In Animal Crossing Wild World, you start out in a taxi talking to a snapping turtle named Kapp'n. He asks you some questions such as your name and where you want to go, and when you arrive in your town, you have no money. You go to the town hall where you meet a pelican named either Pelly or Phyllis. They give you a map to show you where your house and other important buildings are.
Later, you meet a raccoon named Tom Nook who is the one who gives you your house and owns the store. He offers you a part-time job to help pay off your debt you now owe for your house. You have to meet all of the residents and perform a few tasks including deliveries before Tom Nook will let you quit working for him. After that it is up to you to collect the rest of the money to pay off your debt and hopefully expand you house so it will become a five-room mansion.
During the game you can interact with the animal villagers and do thing such as fishing, bug catching, or even gardening. You can also decorate your house with multiple items you buy at Tom Nook's store or earn for performing tasks for the neighbors.
There is a clothing store called Able Sisters that lets you design patterns which can be worn as clothing, hats, or umbrellas. You can also display them in your house as wallpaper or carpet. Every month there are holidays and events, such as Yay Day, when everyone gives each other compliments, or the Acorn Festival, when you collect acorns every day and give them to a tortoise named Cornimer in exchange for furniture.
There is also DS to DS and Nintendo Wi-Fi connection which lets you interact with people near to you and across the world. You can visit each other's town and even chat with the built in keyboard. You can also hold fishing and bug catching contests to see who catches the most. There is always something to do from digging fossils to designing to connecting with people around the world.
Animal Crossing Wild World has great, realistic graphics. It is appropriate and fun for all age groups. It is also easy to transport because it is portable on the Nintendo DS. Overall, I would give Animal Crossing Wild World a five-star rating.
The first Animal Crossing for GameCube came out in 2001. The second one, Animal Crossing Wold World for Nintendo DS, came out in 2005. The last one, Animal Crossing City Folk for Nintendo Wii, came out in 2008.
