Wow, this is a open-ended title. There is so much to be said here about feeding the poor today and everyone on the planet tomorrow. The issues are plentiful, and there is a great deal that can be done to avert a global food crisis. Unfortunately, the way that the world is headed, it is possible that the crisis will hit before anything can be done about it. This seems to already be in place as we see so much poverty in the third world countries and less technology being developed or even being delivered to the areas of the globe where it is needed most.
First and foremost, the poor are getting poorer, and the rich are beginning to get poorer. This is happening because there are a lack of jobs, those who have had the great jobs with the gigantic bonuses are beginning to be discovered that they are running their companies into the ground and they are eventually going to find out what it is like to have nothing. So, because of this, more and more people are going to have to find a way to feed themselves or get assistance when they never thought it possible that they would need it. As the number of unemployed grows, the amount of assistance may begin to buckle somewhat, leaving a global food crisis at proportions we never imagined. So, this means that people are going to have to be re-educated and re-trained in jobs that they could once do or could never have fathomed they would have to do so that they can feed themselves and/or their families. Former President Bill Clinton promised this for the United States and it never occurred.
Second, we as humans, are going to have to turn to other sources for food eventually if we do not develop a way to feed the overpopulated world. This means that we are going to have to advance technology as well as work with the world farming establishment and develop new ways to produce food. One particular way is to turn to the world's oceans. There is plentiful food in the oceans, and as we already know, the oceans cover seventy percent of the world and this is going to be a major step in helping keep everyone fed.
Third, we are going to have to stop putting money toward conflicts between nations and find a way to divert the funds to technology and a continuous food supply. This is not to say that we have to stop funding the military as it is needed for the protection of our freedoms. But, we have to do what is necessary to continue to feed the hungry, The world is getting hungrier because of all of the fraud and all of the hate that we have, bur eventually, this will all change and we will come together to find a way to work on ending world hunger.
Fourth, we have to reform local systems. We have to re-educate people who are milking the welfare system in the United States. The more people that find themselves on welfare but do not need it, end up hurting those who do need it. The money and the assistance could easily run out. Then, what do we do? Who do we blame? We have to stop blaming one another and start working toward the means of peace and helping the scientific community in advancement of the cause of technology to make sure that we can continue to feed ourselves, our children and grandchildren well into the future.
