Poetry: New Year's Eve

by Willy Bendall

Created on: January 01, 2009

It's done with, it's over, it's finished, -

And good riddance, let's call it a day,

Twelve months of Hell undiminished

Can be swept up and tidied away.

Midnight. A new day is dawning

With fireworks spangling the sky.

Let's welcome this January morning

And pray that the tears will dry.
