Homeopathy was developed by Samuel Hahneman in the 18th century. It is a form of natural treatment for physical and psychological disorders based on the idea that "like treats like." If a homeopathic remedy causes certain symptoms in a healthy person, it may be used to treat those very same symptoms that are occurring in another individual.
Homeopathic remedies are made from mineral, plant, or animal substances.
In classical homeopathy, the benefits have been proven repeatedly over the last few decades. In classical homeopathy, a practitioner matches one specific homeopathic remedy to the client's set of physical symptoms. Although homeopathy in general is holistic and focuses on mind and body, the remedies in classical homeopathy have a slightly more physical approach than constitutional homeopathy. In classical homeopathy, usually only one dose of one remedy is given because each remedy is so potent and successful.Patients have experienced relief and healing from diseases as varied as asthma, influenza, sinus infections, yeast infections, infertility, and more.
In constitutional homeopathy, each remedy is equated with the client's mental and physical traits. In determining the correct remedy, the practitioner's focus is less on physical symptoms, and more on personality. The personality is examined in close detail and a remedy that matches the overall mental and personality traits of the individual is given. By taking the remedy that matches one's personality, one can become more balanced, healthier, and happier. Constitutional homeopathy is especially helpful for emotional or mental imbalances. In constitutional homeopathy, more than one remedy may be determined and taken over a period of time. Patients who have been treated using constitutional homeopathy have experienced significant relief from depression, irritability and anxiety- without the side effects of traditional medication.
Homeopathic care is much more detailed and individualized than traditional medicine, an added benefit of homeopathy. If the practitioner is focusing on classical homeopathy, he or she will ask numerous questions about the patient's symptoms (called "case-taking"), and consider all of the symptoms very carefully. He or she will most likely use the material medica to match the symptoms with one appropriate
