Throughout history mankind has created a check and balance system called resolutions. Resolutions are areas in our lives that we want to change or changes that people want to make for us. Whether it is an American tradition that every January 1st we set out to do the same thing; to be nicer,thinner, happier, more content, more confident. Why do we do this and why do we not keep these things called resolutions.

As Americans; and I cant say that we do this more than any other country, but we seem to be the most insecure and discontented country for what we have, or should I say what we do not think we have.

America the Beautiful, or is it? Can we as Americans and those living here actually say that? The answer is still a resounding yes! American's might not always do the things that are right in the eyes of the known world, but our inner spirit is one of pride,courage, and resolve, that no matter what happens to us we find a way. We are a good and decent folk who are based on the belief of a freedom to express ourselves without the persecution of those you think differently.

People make New Years Resolutions I think for two reasons, one is to erase what we have done to our bodies, to our minds and to our families and secondly to make us of course feel better, to get everyone back on a level playing field called life. Resolutions make us feel clean. Resolutions at least for two weeks help us say we have accomplished something, which gives us a boost of self confidence and worth.

This year, lets change this trend and rename the New Years Resolutions to a new term called a Living Resolution, one we keep forever. Living Resolutions are daily choices we make to treat our fellow citizens with dignity and to see the good in every man,woman and child and to treat ourselves with humility and self worth.

Our country was founded on the belief that all men (woman and children included) are created equal. To pursue freedom at any cost, and to say that with these rights endowed to us by our creator are the greatest Living Resolutions known by mankind and that we are Americans, the Land of the Free and Home of the Brave.

When the new year is ushered in, take a stand for what we love about America. Freedom, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness, not only for our own happiness but the needs of our fellow Americans and those living within our borders. There are millions of hurting, hungry and lonely people, right around the corner from where we live. It does not matter if you live on an estate or in a modest dwelling, we can still reach out and make a difference in the life of another human being. By living out our lives in this manner we will not only build our self confidence, self worth, but we will also show mankind why America is still the greatest nation the earth has ever seen.

This is not to say that we should not act in humility, that is our responsibility and our manner on which we should conduct ourselves. We should not think of ourselves as better, but as resolutionist. Changing the world through peace and a common idea, Preservation of the human race.
