Are we our own worst enemy when it comes to panic and anxiety?
Is anxiety disorder a form of dropping out, not having to compete without hope of succeeding? There are thousands of scenarios that feed our ignorance of anxiety and its symptoms, hearing others whine and constantly indulge themselves in the wounded bird syndrome might makes us feel less guilty about our own dilemma.
These observations are not from someone mocking the victims of this terrible disorder, but someone who has experienced the fearful and manic behavior of panic trauma for many years! Whatever is written here, is a gift from someone who experienced the wonderful epiphanny of an almost instant recovery! However it can only be a gift if someone uses it to recover from this obsessive nightmare!
Does it make you uncomforable having someone talk to you about your disorder, making you face of the reality of the fearful symptoms which you always try to avoid? Have you ever considered the possibility that you may be responsible for your panic and anxiety attacks, or would you deny it out of hand? How much time do you spend thinking about your next panic attack when your by yourself and filled with apprehension, do you always anticipate something fearful and unknown about to happen. Are you forced to avoid certain places or situations because of the way you feel, and afraid that it may trigger a dreaded panic attack?
Do you find yourself in situations that the thought of which can terrify you beyond all understanding, like going into a shopping mall, or driving on a toll road or in traffic at a stop light? Do you find certain conversations that might upset you or particular sounds like an ambulance going by make you fearful.
For anything you can think of on this earth, you probably can find someone who's afraid of it no matter how odd it may seem. Do you fear being too far from home, or even walking away from your house, alone, how often must you change your normal habit to avoid the slightest expectation of a perceived panic attack? Have you been to an emrgency room with an unexplained feeling that you were going to have a heart attack or may have been in fear of dying? While being treated by a doctor have you ever been given a reason for your experience other than the clinical explanation of "you just had a panic attack", and after leaving the hospital did you feel guilty about how well you felt as if nothing had happened!
