How to make people think you're smart

by Michelle Shelly

Wouldn't it be nice to be brilliant? Let's face it, some of us aren't capable of having a brain like a doctor, lawyer, or scholar. You CAN put on a persona to give the impression that you're smarter than you actually are. People judge our intelligence primarily on how we look, and speak. This article will give you some ideas on how to make people think you're smart.

Fashion

You can be a genius but if you don't LOOK smart, no one will think you're smart. Shave if you're a man, get your hair done if you're a woman. For both men and women, use skin treatments to keep your face looking young and moisturized. You don't have to go out and spend $500 on a pair of pants and a shirt or top but be smart on how you dress. A nice IRONED pair of 25 dollar dress pants and an ironed 15 dollar dress shirt is a sharp look. Match that with a pair of dress shoes with dress socks (NOT sweat socks!) and YOU'LL look sharp too.

Books

Put a book case in your home and fill it up. Go to a used book store and pick up books on subjects that you have no interest in. Physics, Philosophy, and books about the Roman Empire. Any books that intelligent people generally would read.

Smell Good

A bit of perfume for the ladies and men's cologne for the men can heighten your fashion appeal. And guys, "Axe" or "Tag" is NOT considered fashionable. "Axe" for example is worn by intelligent and less than intelligent people alike. You don't want to be like them, you want to be different in a positive way. Smelling good is an excellent start.

Talk The Talk

How you sound is important in giving the people the impression that you're smart. Now that doesn't mean you have to re-educate yourself and learn long words and what they mean. Simply avoid the word "ain't" and talk in complete and correct sentences, and avoid using slang. Instead of saying "I don't wanna do that", Say, "I don't want to do that". Instead of saying, "That movie don't appeal to me", Say, "That movie doesn't (or does not) appeal to me". Here's a quick English lesson. "don't" is a contraction used for "do not". "Doesn't is a contraction used for "does not". Remember this when using contractions.

People judge our intelligence every time they see us or hear us talk. We may not be a genius or scholar but we can make a few adjustments with ourselves to at least not appear to be an idiot. Hopefully, this article will help you in giving the impression that you're smarter than you actually are. Good luck.
