A sex only relationship

Sex only relationships are more common than you might think. Don't think that the only people who have a sex only relationships are young and free spirited. The people who engage in this lifestyle come on all ages, shapes, colors and professional status. A sex only relationship is different from a "friends with benefits" type relationship. This article will give you some tips on how to better understand the rational behind a sex only relationship.

Time.

A serious relationship is a commitment. Commitment takes time. A serious relationship involves dating, getting to know one another, and spending time with each other. Some people still have a sex drive but don't have the time for dating or time to devote to maintaining a relationship. The sex drive or libido for a man or woman doesn't go away when they are single and alone.

Commitment

Fear of commitment is another thing. Both men and women are subject to this issue. Some people don't want a relationship mainly because it takes away their options for variety. Fear of commitment is a valid reason for a sex only relationship.

What Type Of People Do This?

Nearly everyone. Successful single people are common in this lifestyle. They may be successful and prominent members of the community. They have needs but because of their busy career, they aren't able to maintain a relationship. That doesn't stop their desire for sex though. A young man or woman may have a sex only relationship because they want to concentrate on their college studies.

The Rules

A sex only relationship usually has certain rules established between the two people involved. They know each other and to a certain extent, they trust each other. One or both of them may insist on safe sex practices. They may have no other association with one another except for sex. They may not kiss during sex or they may not spend the entire night together. They may not share each other's real names. The rules can be few or many and are a the discretion of the people involved. They can be elaborate or simple. It's up to the participants.

A sex only relationship isn't for everyone but it certainly has a place in society. It's more common than you might think as well. Sexual desire affects everyone. It doesn't always go away after menopause or the age of 50. Hopefully this article gave you a better understanding of a sex only relationship. Perhaps it's not for you and that's fine. However, some of the single men and women you know, love, and hold in high regard, may very well have a sex only relationship with someone.
