Poetry: On music

by Angie Huizer

Created on: December 30, 2008

I am the Notes

Solitary tempo of the bass drum
Structured quarters sent, saluting in line
They will raise their flags and add to the sum
Crescendo, crescendo! The sound; benign

And then, so sudden, so unexpected
A sweet voice whispers solo, piano
Birth of a choral, halves are connected
The voice will reign o'er hearts; a soprano

A composition and a rhapsody
The music is life, in no way pallid
Creating chords, chaining a melody
Listen, be wary, this is my ballad

From deep in between the lines of a staff
The notes, which are I, we design my craft
