I remember when I was a young person and I would hear the jingle on the radio. Two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame bun. Yum! Have you actually tried one? They are very tasty; I know I know the fat, cholesterol, and no nutritional value. Wait a minute, no nutritional value? Do you remember the food groups? Let's see, meat and poultry, that's on there, bread and grains, that's in there, dairy, that's in there too. Fruits and vegetables, well it has two vegetables, pickles and lettuce. The special sauce is nothing more than Thousand Island dressing. Put all of that together and it sounds pretty good. Now before you all go getting your health kick in a bundle, let's look at this from all angles. Of course I would never recommend eating a Big Mac every day, not even every week or every month. However, this is a free country is it not? Don't we have the right to determine as adults what we can put into our bodies? Right? Retiring the Big Mac because it is now deemed unhealthy is ridiculous! There are many things in this world that we eat, smoke, and drink that are unhealthy for us. The whole point of doing any of it is for enjoyment. If your life is filled with tofu and water, what is the point of living your life to its fullest? The powers that be are always complaining that we do not eat right, exercise enough, sleep enough, drink enough water, and so forth. The powers that be complain that we are too fat, smoke to much tobacco, drink too much alcohol and the likes. At what point in our lives do we decide what, how, and when we do things or not do things. Is living to a ripe old age of 100 really a goal for everyone? Or is it simply a goal for a few. Or is living your life to its fullest extent more your choice. Of course being ill with diseases is not fun for anyone, but life is a journey is it not? Through all of these trials and tribulations of life, don't we all learn something important?<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /

If you do live to be 100 years old, what is the point if you have absolutely nothing to look back on and smile? I don't know about you, but I do not want to look back over the years and say, "Wow, I am really glad that I took such good care of myself, I never smoked, drank, ate the wrong things, and lead a fairly boring life. Yeah!" Especially when the vast majority of your close friends and dear family is already gone. You will be alone in your age.
