Poetry: Turmoil

I FIND NO PEACE

I am sitting alone
While the moon shines down,
And I listen to the quiet softness
Of nature's sounds.

I consider my life;
I ponder, and I pray...
Wondering if God hears the things I say.
It often doesn't seem that way.

There is no peace or joy,
No comfort to be found.
There is only my loneliness,
And a sadness so profound.

Love lingers so near I could touch it,
Yet is always beyond my reach.
My perfect match so close at hand,
Until I showed true feelings...
Then they all ran.

Even as the question haunts me,
I try to understand.
But no answer comes;
No soothing touch
From God's Divine Hand

I find no peace
To carry me through my days;
Just the bleak and gloomy feelings
that block the sunlight's rays.

I plead for guidance,
But my cries are met with silence,
As my pain becomes more violent

From this bondage, I pray to be released
But no matter what I try...
Still, I find no peace.
