Some of the points which make shopping for clothes at Goodwill fun, are also those which make doing so a challenge. In many Goodwill shops clothes are grouped by gender only, and occasionally mistakes are even made in these categories. This is probably because many of these shops are run by voluntary workers who offer their time for free, and who dont get a chance to organise the clothing any more than they already do.
It can be exciting to rummage through disorganised items because there is always the possibility that if you keep your eyes wide open you may just spot a real bargain that other, less observant shoppers have inadvertently over-looked. In fact, doing just this is often the lure that compels many of us to shop at Goodwill, along with the knowledge that our cash is going to a good cause.
The following are some tips to help you to make the best of shopping for clothes at Goodwill.
# Be Prepared
There are several ways that you can ensure that you are adequately prepared to make shopping at Goodwill an efficient experience. The first is to sort out some coins, as well as dollars or pounds, ready to shop with. This is because Goodwill shops often dont have very much spare change and can find it difficult to accommodate customers who only shop with notes.
The second way to prepare is to dress ready for quick changes in the dressing room should you need to try on items of clothing. There often isnt much room to maneuver in Goodwill dressing rooms, or many places to hang up that which you take off or need to put somewhere before you try them on.
Therefore it can help if you wear a skirt, if you are a woman, as you can try pants on without removing it. It can also be a help if you wear light shoes, rather than large clumpy ones which you would need to remove before changing clothes.
# Bags and Baskets
Remember to grab a basket or trolley before you set off around the store. You never know how many good items you are going to discover, and if there are allot then you will find it difficult to browse with your arms full.
Bring bags in which to place items that you purchase, rather than taking up ones that the shop supplies. You can save up carrier bags that you receive elsewhere for this purpose to recycle, or you can use sturdier bags if you are a really serious shopper who likes quantity as well as quality.
# Size
Although some coat hangers do display size, the size shown may not be appropriate to the garments hanging on them in Goodwill shops. Very often clothing
