Poetry: The moon

by Paul Kinley

Created on: December 29, 2008

I watched the moon go down

But I never felt the sunrise

I watched the moon go down

And never felt so far from alive

I watched the moon escape

But never felt the sun invade

I watched your sorrow slip away

But never saw a smile replace

I saw how far you were from hope

I saw your faith slowly fade

As I saw the moon go down

I felt your breath decay

I watched the moon go down

But I never felt the sunrise

I watched the moon go down

And never wanted to see again
