My Wonderful Dad.
How do I form the words to say, exactly how I feel,
The years dont take away the pain, it still seems so sureal.
It's when it comes to Christmas time, the pain is more intense,
I always like to think your here, to help in my defence.
Then floods of pure emotion, just flush into my mind,
When I remember how you were, so loving and so kind.
I just took it for granted, that you'd never go, you see,
A better Dad could never be, as brilliant as you to me.
I know I have to face the years, without you at my side,
But I still have my memories, and these I hold with pride.
So dad if you can hear me, please let me see a sign,
I want to feel your spirit close, then I'll know your fine.
In Loving memory of my Dad. xxxxx

Summer: the sizzling hiss of boiled air
like a handsaw in new-kilned pine.

I think because I'm a girl,
people naturally compare me to Mom.
How they fail to see I'm identical to you;
is a mystery
Heavenly Wishes
All of my life, whether present or apart,
Father was held dear in my heart.
I think of all the things you had
With weathered hands
and nails bitten to the quick
you still manage
to button up your shirt
and lace up your shoes

Father
You are the best
In the honesty
Of the best
You have spoken
Of life
To do the best
But never to
Push
To topple yourself
