The Pamela Jake Diaries: Episode 1

11:33 AM, January 19, 2007

Dear Diary,

Tonight I visited the rendevous spot for a last look around. It seems that everything has been placed back in order. Knowing it's all taken care of makes it easier for me to move along. Closure may sound quaint to the others, but I always have to see for myself. After all if something is left undone, it's me that gets the bite in the butt.

Overall, the past few weeks were successful. Let's recap. The call came in at 11:30 am exactly three Fridays ago. Granted I did not appreciate it, days before my planned New Year's Eve bash. Pardon me for thinking, I could have a life. Anyway, staying on task, after hearing the three words clearly, "Fossil is Moving" I moved. Within the next thirty minutes, I united the rest of the team, we accessed the dilemma, formulated a plan, and went to work. We had three initial objectives. Follow Fossil's trail. Pinpoint their new location. Infiltrate their new system. All three objectives were successful. WE were able to gain access to their data files. That puts our guys one step ahead. However, FOSSIL is still a threat. We got close this time. Closer than we ever have before. A few days in their system, and our guys can nail them before they do any more damage.

The ringing of her phone interrupted Pamela Jake before she could finish chronicaling her latest mission. Startled, she allowed herself a moment to recover then picked up the reciever. "Jake's line?" she answered.

"No, that's impossible. They did everything correctly. I checked it myself."
"You can't be serious."
"Give me five minutes."

Hanging up the phone, she started to rush out again, but glancing back at her unfinished entry, she sat back down.

A call I just received tells me two things. We're back to square one, and FOSSIL is closer to us than we are to them. Someone on my team is rotten.

To be continued...Pamela Jake

She quickly saved her entry, knowing that her encryption program would keep it safe, and moved toward the door.
