The first problem is our conceit in claiming God created us in His image. No! We created "God" in our image. Many will find this offensive, and dismiss it immediately, but it should not be considered that way, since it is pure logic. It makes no sense that we call God He' because, if god is male, he has a penis, and the presence of a penis presupposes something to have intercourse with, namely, the vagina of another being. And this duality goes against all notions of omnipotence, because where there are two beings, there's the possibility of disagreement between them. Also omniscience, because they can keep secrets from one another, and omnipresence, because two can't occupy one space, and in order for them to be room for two, there's got to be something to contain them and allow room to move. What governs that space? If anything, then that is the being that should be prayed to, not some lesser, fallible being!
The real god is everything and everywhere. God is not He or She because It can and will never be limited by either. God never came down to Earth because that very act proves It wasn't there already. That presupposes opposition, and there can be none.
Satan? What's that? An opposing viewpoint to God? Then something larger than those two must exist to have created them. It is utter stupidity to worship a creation and not the creator. To say our God is a jealous god, and attribute human weakness to It, is a blatant effrontery, openly opposing Romans 1: Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man.'
What is the Old Testament, but mythology? Propaganda to sanitize and justify David's rule and dynasty. What better validation for a king than a mandate from heaven? And the rest of it? Sanctification of Jewish policy. And the phrase that should set the alarm bells ringing, the very slogan of brainwashing: accept on blind faith or face the eternal fires of Hell.' How better to pacify the mindless masses than threaten them with such an outlandish punishment? Tell the herd man that an invisible authority figure who's always watching demands that he lead a strict, joyless life. Or else.
I defy someone to explain this: in Numbers, Moses raged at his generals after a battle for sparing so many civilians. He said then "Now, therefore, kill every male among the children, and kill every woman that hath known a man by lying with him. But all the girl-children that hath not
