"Jessica it is time to go to bed." "Oh mom, it is only 9:00(pm)." said Jessica. " "You have watched enough television for today and you have school tomorrow." said Jessica's mom. "Mom just ten more minutes?" asked Jessica. "Turn the television off young lady and go to bed." said Jessica's mom in a stern voice. "O.K mom." said Jessica.

The alarm clock rang at 6:00 am. "Get up Jessica." "Oh mom, just fifteen more minutes." said Jessica. "No, it is time to get up and you are going to be late." said Jessica mom's. Jessica washed up and proceeded to get dress. She came downstairs and ran to the television to turn on the cartoons. She then went and sat down at the kitchen table. Her mother prepared her a bowl of cereal. Jessica's mom went into the living room and turned off the television. "I was watching that mom." "You watch entirely too much television Jessica. Jessica, you come home and turn the television on, you even do your homework with the television on. You even eat your food while you are watching the television. There is going to be some changes around here." said Jessica's mom.

"No, mom I just like to watch television. I really learn a lot. It is very educational." said Jessica. "Yea, right ." said Jessica's mom. After Jessica ate her breakfast her mother drove her to school. Around 2:00 pm Jessica mother answered the phone. It was Jessica's principal Mr. Aiken. "Mrs. Taylor I would like to schedule a teacher and parent conference with you. " "Is something wrong with Jessica?" asked her mother. "She has been sleeping in class and we would like to speak with you regarding this." said the principal."O K sir can I please call you back to set up a time for me to come in?" "Sure." said the principal. Jessica mother arrived at the school at 3:00 pm to carry her home. When Jessica arrived home she jumped out of the car and ran into the house. Jessica's mother came into the house to find Jessica had stopped dead in her tracks. "Mother, screamed Jessica someone has stolen our television set." Jessica mother laughed very loudly. "No Jessica I took the television." she said ."Why?" asked Jessica. "You are falling asleep in class and it is really hurting your grades." " No mom please I can not make it without the television." cried Jessica. "How do you think people got along before they invented television?" asked Jessica's mom. "I do not know mom and I do not want to find out." replied Jessica. "Well you will my dear." said her mom.
