Poetry: Thank you to my friends

by Laurel A Rockefeller

Created on: December 27, 2008

There is a love in friendship.
That is the deepest love of all
That transcends what even lovers feel
And goes beyond the call.
There's nothing I wouldn't do for you,
No terror I wouldn't face
Including the demons deep inside
Or follow your sincere advise.

Loyal ever people have alliterated called me
And loyal it is true.
For true friends I have found in you
And loyalty is your due.
My love and friendship I offer you
'Til death and beyond you shall have it
For never have I found such friends
Who ever have so well merited it

And though with one the time is less,
My soul instincts do know
That day by day and hour by hour
This friendship deepens and grows
And loyalty is not premature
Nor affection goes unmerited

And so my friends, receive my love
I give it in true sincerity.
You raise me when I am down.
And triumph with me when I am up.
And for this and more...I cannot thank you enough.

Your dear friend, Laurel
