What do you do when the legal system fails you.
To me, a man with BLACK skin in a nation that justified racism for almost all its existence, the legal system has been the only voice I have had to speak about my complaints of racism, sexism and ageism.
While many of my formal complaints of racism to both federal and state courts have been ignored, I am grateful that I had the right to file a formal complaint.
In my opinion if you exercise your legal rights by filing a complaint, suing someone in court, or asking the state or federal district attorney to prosecute a criminal for violation your civil and legal rights you have won a legal battle because you created a public record that your were abuse.
It would be wonderful if we live just society where legal corruptions like
1. Police and Judges doing favors for friends
2. Police and Judges believing the words of the Bible stating dark is bad
and light is good.
3. Police and Judges being susceptible to bribes or greed,
did not exist, but it is a reality of life that we all going to have to deal with until the day we die.
While my hearts bleeds for the million of slaves from Africa that went their entire life as slaves without ever seeing so called freedom, it made feel so proud in reading the hundreds of letters in newspaper and public journals that from educated black people
and white abolitionists who legally protested the injustices of slavery over a hundred
before the Emancipation Proclamation.
In a nation that has a legal system you cannot fail if you exercise your legal rights.
It does not matter if you win or lose the case in a court of law, just public stating
the crimes or violations against makes you a winner.
In the many acts of social injustice that has been perpetuated against like
(1) being dragged by out of a store by my leg
(2) punch in the face in front of the police and the police threatens to arrest me
(3) watching my son illegally evicted from his home by a judge,
the legal system did not fail me, I failed myself because of ignorance and laziness.
While my lack of knowledge is a partial excuse, if I would of did a little research and
continue to write to the right official like the
(1) superior court,
(2) office of citizen complaints
(3) council of judicial review
(4) the department of justice
(5) my federal and state congressman
(6) the better business bureau
(7) the federal trade commission
(8) the u s department of justice
(9) newspapers.
If you screams foul loud enough and long enough to the right the people, sooner or later someone is going to hear your voice and you will have your day in court.
As a child of an Almighty God, one of his greatest gifts to me has been the American
Legal System.
While I have not always won the cases I presented in the American Legal System,
at least I wrote my case and presented it to a legal official and from that point of
view the legal system cannot fail me.
If police and judges are going to play favorites and racism, then it is on them,
I believe in an Almighty God and absolutely certain one day corrupt Judges, Lawyers
and policemen will to ask God's forgiveness for their sins.
Just as the letter wrote by Black People and White Abolitionists were stepping
stones the freedoms black people have today.
Filing your complaint in the legal system makes you a winner who can never fail.
