Katie Couric should not share her anchor chair. That concept does not work on the evening nightly network news. That concept has so many examples of failure such as ABC Harry Reasoner, Barbara Walters,NBC Tom Brokaw,Roger Mudd,CBS Dan Rather, Connie Chung. The era of Huntley,Brinkley is long over, with twenty four hour news channels such as CNN its unnecessary.

Katie Couric is a multi award winning newswoman she is very capable of anchoring the CBS Evening News solo. The jealous print media been writing negative stories of her tenure in that chair since she left NBC. When she first started on the CBS Evening News the management there handle her, its newscast wrong for one. They tryed to be different from they competitors not taking in consideration of its loyal viewers of CBS Evening News. That broadcast has always been widely known, respected as being the most news broadcast then its competitors with Walter Cronkite,Dan Rather and Bob Schieffer in the solo anchor chair.

The management at CBS News was also trying to bring the Today Show to the CBS Evening News. Yes Katie made her mark, her reputation while co-hosting the top rated NBC Today Show but its a different platform, time,in some degree audience.

She has since regain her footing as solo anchor of the CBS Evening News during the recent national political process. She especially regain her tough always well prepared excellent interviewing during the recent presidential elections. She actually made america take a very hard look at vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin and presidential candidate John McCain after her one on one, then they joint interviews with them.

She showed why easily she is regarded as a excellent interviewer, very worthy, qualified for this job. Her broadcast under executive producer Rick Kaplan a former ep of world news tonight with the late great Peter Jennings, Ted Koppel Nightline is now gaining in viewers.The broadcast still holds the title as the most news newscast then its competitors,its reporting is also top notch. They do need to get better subsitutes in her absence similar to when Dan Rather was off. He usually had Bob Schieffer, Leslie Stahl and the late great 60 minutes man Ed Bradley backing him up. CBS News Management needs to hire Forrest Sawyer for that job now. She is a very good newswoman, she does not need to share a 22minute newscast with anyone.

Katie Couric is a very good, very talented newswoman. Her credentials are impeccable, she is very authoratative.
