Work at home scams: Workers beware

resend it back to you saying that there is some fault with it. No matter how well and carefully you do your work they will find something that to say it is substandard. You could be penalised or have to pay a fine.

Get paid to read emails are also commonplace nowadays. More and more people are using the internet and scammers want to take advantage of this technology. You will be promised that you will be paid (quite a lot) of money just for reading emails.

Paid to read (PTR for short) and paid to click (PTC) programmes do exist however they do not pay you enough to be called an income. You will be required to register with the company and send them your email address and fill a form. They will send you emails to your inbox and for each email you read you get paid a certain amount of money. Some PTC's ask for money in exchange for membership and secrets on how to earn an extra income but all they do is send you web addresses to other PTC's who will do the exact same.

Typing at home vacancies are heavily advertised. If you use the computer a lot and are a good typist this job is likely to attract your attention. You will need to contact the scammer to get more information about the vacancy. Once you do you will get a CD with instructions on how to place typist adverts on various sites to scam more people. Otherwise you will be asked to pay a membership fee to guarantee' you work or for training/admin fees etc.

There are many other scams that are taking place as scammers are trying to find different methods to make you part with your cash. Real work at home vacancies do exist, try www.genuinejobs.com or www.workathomegigs.com , both do not charge any fees to be able to work from home. If you are given an opportunity to work from home then make sure you;

*Do your research. Find out as much as you can about the company and their history. Even if you can't ask directly research the internet See if you can speak to other employees who have worked or are currently working with them and get their feedback.

*Ask what your duties/tasks/responsibilities will be. What sort of tasks will you be performing?

*Ask who will pay you? When and how will you get paid?

*Ask if there are any fees? If there are then what are the fees for? (training, membership?) and if there is any guarantee of work or money back?

*Ask how much you can realistically make per week/month/assignment?
Never give out your personal details and remember if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
