Five Great Recipes Of Fish From Bengal

Bengal ( Bangladesh and the Indian state of West Bengal ) is located to the east of India and its landmass has been gifted with many water bodies including some huge rivers like the Ganga/Padma and Brahmaputro. These water bodies are rich in varieties of fish.
Hence fish is one of the most favorite cuisines of Bengal. People of Bengal have learned to prepare fantastic cuisines of fish which they taste almost daily and not only on the festive days.
Let me present five different preparations on the fish of Bengal.
1.
Fish in Mustard Oil
Requisites:
a) Ru hi fish, 450 gm, fresh from the backward part and just below the head
b) Green chilies 8 pieces
c) Sesame, white, fried, powered, 4 tablespoonful
d) Spices :
1) Turmeric Powder, 1 pinch 2) Mustard oil, 1 cup nearly 3) Ginger paste, 1.5 teaspoon 4) Garlic paste, 1 tablespoonful
e) Salt
f) Milk 3 tablespoonful
Preparation:
Step 1
Clean and wash the fish in cold water and cut into 5 pieces.
Step 2
Add salt and turmeric and rub them over the pieces of the fish.
Step 3
Clean the pan and set it on the oven .Pour the mustard oil into it and heat in medium temperature. Allow the fish to be fried lightly and take care so that they do not stick to the pan. Remove the fish from the pan and keep beside in a bowl.
Step 4
Grind the mustard and the sesame and 3 chilies
Step 5
Add slit chilies and garlic paste and ginger paste into the pan and heat and fry in the oil. Step 6
Add a little water and the milk and nearly 1 spoon of the mustard oil and mix them.
Step 7
Add the pieces of the fried fish. Add the paste of the chilies and the mustard and the sesame when the fish has received a little temperature.
Step 8
Add a little salt and boil for 3 to 4 minutes.
Now the cuisine is ready and may be served fresh with rice.
2.
Bhapa Ilish Patey
Hilsa fish, Ilish machh in Bengali, has been the most popular non-vegetarian cuisine of Bengal for centuries. Any preparation of hilsa is extremely delicious and a dream food of the people of this region.
Requisites:
a) Hilsa fish, 750 gm
b) Mustard seed paste, 50 gm
c) Turmeric powder, 1.5 teaspoonful
d) Green chili paste, 25 gm
e) Green chilli slit, 5 pieces
f) Cream, 2.5 tablespoonful
g) Mustard oil, 100 gm
h) Salt
Preparation:
Step one
Clean and wash the hilsa fish under cold water and cut into 5 fishes.
Step 2
Add turmeric and salt on the pieces of the fish and keep
