Ever wonder how you can make millions by doing something as simple as 'mining'? Well, it's very possible. I, myself, have done this. Mining is something simple, but sometimes can get very tiring. People decide to cheat and use programs called "auto-miners" which really isn't worth it. If you really want to make big money by mining then you will need to be dedicated and very patient as this will take some time, maybe even months, but i guarantee that by the time you finish with all these steps i will provide you with, you'll be a millionaire easily. These steps are from my own experience.
I find mining pretty easy, all you really need to do is click on the 'ore' or whatever you're mining and the player does all the hard work. Many people get bored, but I on the other hand, can go on for hours doing this. And it's worth it. Okay, so starting off, you can only mine copper ore and tin ore. You will find leveling up very fast in these levels. Save up all those copper and tin ores in your bank until you get to level 15 mining. Then, you need to smelt the copper and tin ores and make bronze bars. Now, just smith all those bronze bars. All of this bronze junk doesn't even have a value, so don't get your hopes up thinking you will make lots of money by selling them to other players. No, don't waste your time, just go and sell all of that junk at the General Store.
Go back to mining, and now you can mine iron ore, so do that. Save up all those iron ores until you get to level 30. Now, you can buy an Adamant Pick-axe. Go back to mining, but now you can mine coal, so go ahead and do that. Try getting around the same amount of coal and iron. So do this until you get to about level 50. Remember, by level 40 you are capable of using the Rune Pick-axe. For the next step, it would be very useful if you are a skilled mage and you are capable of casting the spell SuperHeat Item because you will need to smelt iron ores to make iron bars, but only 50% of iron ores actually turn into iron bars when using the furnace. So if you had about 2000, and are just trying to smelt 1,000 of them, but only 500 of them will turn into bars. That's not so convenient, is it? With superheat you can make all 1,000 successful iron bars. Now smith all these bars. By smelting and smithing all these bars you will probably reach level 30 or more. Now you can make steel bars.
When you smelted those 1,000 iron ores, you should have about another 1,000 iron ores plus 2,000 coal. Now you can smelt all of your remaining ores and coal into steel bars and smith them. Now, your smithing and mining level should be almost the same. Now, you can keep getting iron and coal to make steel bars, or you can go and mine gold ore. Which are sold for a good price range of around 450-550 gp each. If you have level 40 crafting or more, it would help to go to the crafting guild where there is about triple the amount of gold rocks than in any other place. Once you reach level 60, you can go to the mining guild. Here, you will find many coal rocks and a few mithril rocks, five to be exact.
Keep getting coal and get mithril ores too. Try getting 4x the amount of coal than mithril ores. Do this until you reach around 75 mining. You will have so much to smith, but have patience. It's going to be worth it. So go ahead and smelt mithril bars and smith them all. Just by selling all those mith bars, you will probably be a millionaire, but when you lose it all, it will be so hard to get back all of that money. Now you can mine adamantite ore. Now try getting 6x the amount of coal than adamant ores. Save up all the ores until you get to 85 mining. Smelt all those adamant bars, but don't sell them...be patient. Just smith them all and just keep reminding yourself that it will all be worth it.
You'll probably have the same high levels of mining and smithing by now. Finally, this is the part where you make millions! Mine 8x the amount of coal and rune ore. Now, you can save up as many as you want and smelt them. For example, if you have 800 coal and 100 rune ores, you can make 100 rune bars. Now, you can sell these bars. They cost about 20k each! That will make it 100 x 20k = 2 million gp! And that's just 100 rune bars, imagine having 1,000 of them. By following all of this, I assure you will be a super millionaire. This will take long, probably a year or so, so don't think it's easy. But like I said before, it's all worth it.
Oh yes, another trick so you won't get tired or bored when mining is to listen to some music or talk with your online rs buddies. That's what I do and it's been really helpful.
