God and temptation

It is so hard to do good by God. When I was in my teens and had an understanding of God, I would count on my hand everything I did that was considered a sin.

When I was in my early twenties, I tried to get "righteous" by attending church regularly and I even found a spiritual counselor who would guide me to the right path to Heaven. The only thing that was holding me back was my boyfriend in which we were sexual active and not married. Sin #1 to the max. I could not have my cake and eat it too my spiritual counselor said. Therefore, I stopped going to church and I would speak to my counselor only around holidays.

Now, I am married to my boyfriend and I still have not returned to church. Even with being married and not sinning as far as I am concerned, I still feel that I have a lot to live up to, to see the pearly gates. With all the restrictions, I do not think I would be able to keep up.
