One thing is for sure, even in the midst of a shaky economy, family obligations, work and various challenges that inevitably arise, through it all; women prioritize keeping their images in tact. In such an image driven society who can blame us? It seems the bar is high as we peruse through fashion magazines at the checkout stand, flipping through page after page of unrealistic, air brushed fashion spreads of models, ostensibly not more than 12 years old. Stilettos are in flats are out, palazzo pants trump the skinny fit and over sized totes are so last year... UGH! it can be stressful trying to keep up with the world of fashion if you don't keep it in it's proper perspective. First off, fashion is about dressing in garments flattering to your frame and not buying into (no pun intended) the hype of incorporating the latest trends into your wardrobe. Loehmann's, Off 5th Avenue and Nordstrom Rack are great choices for designer clothing at a fraction of the price. Outlet malls also offer a great way to purchase quality garments at reasonable prices.
Once you've introduced a few designer staples into your wardrobe, a visit to one of the many moderately priced fashion shops on the rise is the order of the day. Zara, H&M, Target and even Forever 21 may surprise you. Most of these retailers occasionally partner with designers at the peak of their careers or legends in the industry, to create lines exclusive to their stores, and available for a limited time. In most cases the quality of these pieces is outstanding; I have personally gotten years of wear from many a frock purchased this way.
Next, it's off to exploring the local thrift and consignment shops in your area. Being a Los Angeleno, we are inundated with such stores, and if
