The word "maybe" is used here as an act of courtsey. My goal is to present a new perspective without shoving my beliefs down the throats of others. I think the word "maybe" is a powerful tool in presenting an idea for thoughtful consideration. Especially an idea pertaining to something as delicate as the topic of Religion. I state this here because to ME the following is truth. But I realize and fully respect that I am in no position to dictate the truths of others. With that being said I am really excited to share the following:
What feels true to me is that Jesus died and resurrected to show us that God-Self transcends death. Jesus the "man" suffered and died. Jesus the "Christ" lives on. The Christ is "God-Self" which lives within us all. Plus the whole idea of God needing some sacrificial lamb to save us from "sin" just makes no sense. I agree, with recent discovery on my part, that much of whats found in the Bible is an explanation of events as perceived by humans that were influenced by their time.
In the Bible (Joshua 10:11-14) it says that God stopped the sun in the sky to permit Joshua enough daylight to carry out a slaughter against the Amorites. This was based on a very human misconception that the sun revolves around the earth, which humans didn't even know was ROUND at that point. Plus what kind of God would do such a thing? Not the God I feel working in my heart as I write this. Nope...I don't buy it. I think it's all perception. I feel that Christ is an experience not an explanation. There really are no words in any language to "explain"...a state of being One with God ( Atonement... At - One - Ment ). Maybe this is why we were shown...maybe this is why Jesus did what he did....He perished to reveal Christ-Self...God-Self.
It is written that Jesus said: "Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die." I read this differently..I don't see this as " If you don't believe in me your damned " I see this as " Those who choose to carry me in their hearts while living will know life-eternal "
That knowledge..that faith and REALLY having it..allows us to transcend death while living. Maybe...that is the essence of life. There is no death...we are free to live fully and help one another live fully by sharing this Truth. I know that recently I was lead by Jesus... back to Christ. A way of life that I had abandoned long ago.I could say I am a changed person but the funny thing is I'm not really changed. It has always been this way. I was just blind and now I see.
This is The Resurrection for me. I said to my Mom yesterday that maybe, like Jesus, we all experience little "deaths" all the time in many ways...and like Christ we are resurrected again and again. Maybe THAT is the point...instead of sinners and saints and apples and Eve....maybe.
