Staying positive in a negative world

of your space. When visible and common areas are clean, free of clutter, and free of dust, dirt, grime and other messes, you will certainly notice the difference. Cleanliness opens up an unseen realm of positive and uplifting energy and allows it to flow more freely throughout. If you don't believe this, just try it and see how you feel.




Now that your dishes are done, and you've got a clean house, spruce it up a little. Start with your favorite aroma. Do some research on aromatherapy, or simply choose a smell that makes you feel good. Burn some candles or incense and let the smell move into your newly cleaned and opened spaces. Make sure you have items, pictures, photos, and trinkets surrounding you. Choose things that resonate with you or give you an uplifting feeling. Get some magazines and cut out pictures of things that represent your wildest dreams. If you've never heard of a vision board, do some research. Vision boards put forth a visual dream that resides inside your mind, out into that recently cleaned space full of energy. You'll be amazed at the results that can be attained by the connection between your subconscious mind and the positive energy that floats around the universe. Opportunities always present themselves if you're looking.




Take a few minutes everyday to get to know yourself. You might think you know that your favorite color is green and you like shrimp scampi, but this is not really, truly knowing yourself. Figure out how things make you feel. Be compassionate with yourself and be your own friend. Look at yourself in the mirror and find things to appreciate. Say them out loud. It's likely that this exercise will not come easy for you. If that is the case, then you know it's something that you should really work at and give effort to. The only way we can grow is by pushing through some discomfort. Get up right now and go to a mirror and tell yourself I love you.' It sounds weird and maybe even a little silly, but just do it. It's hard. Do it anyway. Look yourself in your own eyes and say I love you.' You'll feel lighter and more positive when you do.




Take moments to yourself. Any children in your life may not react positively to you choosing to take some time without them, but in the long run, they will learn to respect you and themselves. Same goes for adults. Your spouse might feel intimidated or rejected if you choose to take care of yourself, but if you make this a habit, while still spending special time with others, people around
