high and lows, waxing and waning
like the moon
Ups and downs we cannot choose
as we learn to ride the waves

So you wake up,
and the sun is
burning your eyes.
You put on a pot of coffee
and just as the morning
starts to slowly drip
through
DEPRESSION
Silently in sorrow
this poet stood
among voices of praise
