Attempting to define reality

Define reality

It looks as if reality for many here is a sad, boring, depressing set of routines that they face everyday.

My reality is different, my reality is defined by my family, my work my everyday activities and what I learn from them. Sure it's hard waking up in the morning and facing an hour and a half commute every day, spending 10-11 hours in the office and then the drive back but what is the reality I am dealing with? I love what I do, and who I do it for, everything I do I learn something, my reality is a constant attempt at growing and improving myself and hoping that one day I will be wise enough to pass it along to my son.

My reality is trying to help people in their everyday life, providing honest opinions and suggestions, reality is empathize with those who are wronged and rejoice with those who are happy. My reality is to make sure I am there to make sure that those who I come in contact with know that I am there for them regardless if they are customers, friends or strangers on line at Starbucks.

My reality is smiling at strangers even when my heart is heavy and my mind is busy, being good, honest and reliable for those who I come in contact with, those who I might have a chance to improve their lives.

My reality is my wife smiling at me when I come home, kissing her good night and good morning, spending time together watching our favorite shows or letting her drag me to stores late at night to look for something I have absolutely no understanding of but enjoying it anyway because we get to spend time together. My reality is hoping to have a second baby sooner than later.

My reality is my 5 year old and his funny faces, him shaving in the bath tub like Daddy does, or explaining to me how things work (and for some reason magic has a part in italways), reality is planning to take him to the park and search for arrowheads and shark teeth that are so old he doesn't even understand or going out for pancakes at 5 o'clock in the afternoon and watching his happiness when he realizes he can have breakfast food for dinner.

Defining reality is a choice, is it the things that every day drag us down and challenge us? Or is it the motivating things and the successes, big and small, that we experience everyday?
I chose the latter, positive things in life don't shine as bright as negative ones, but with a little effort when you bring the positive in the forefront more and more will come.
