Athletes know that honey can boost performance and endurance and decrease fatigued muscles.
It is the natural fruit sugars that are responsible for preventing fatigue during exercise. Glucose in honey is absorbed quickly by the body and gives it an immediate energy boost. The fructose in honey is absorbed more slowly and provides sustained energy. Honey keeps levels of blood sugars at a even level in the bloodstream, you do not experience the ups and downs of blood sugar like other foods cause.
If you wake up in the morning and feel like you just cannot get going, eat a little honey. You can put some honey in a cup of tea or even spread it on a piece of toast or a bagel. It will give you a refreshing boost of energy to get your morning started.

Some of the antimicrobial properties can kill certain bacterial that cause the infection. It only takes two to three tablespoons of honey, with 3 ounces of lemon juice and a pinch of salt. It works every time I have used it.
If you are having trouble sleeping at night, try a little milk and honey. Mix a teaspoon of honey in a glass of hot milk and lay down and experience a good nights sleep. You can stay away from the dangerous side effects of taking sleeping pills simply by reaching for that jar of honey sitting on your shelf.
Honey is an amazing and valuable food that many people have no knowledge about. It has so many positive uses to better health and the ability to boost energy with no side effects. It is safe, full of antioxidants and very inexpensive. It is a perfect food source that not get the recognition it deserves.
