If you have ever wanted to grow long, healthy hair naturally but paused to think about it because you thought it would take too much effort, then think again. Long hair has been admired for centuries and has long symbolized beauty, both for men and women. Even now, you won't have to empty your purse in order to have beautiful, naturally long and healthy hair. Follow the simple steps below and you'll have a head of hair you'll certainly be proud of.
First, drinking water and tweaking your diet are both important for growing long hair that is healthy. I say "tweaking" your diet instead of "changing" it because I know that most people cringe when they are told to "change" their diets. Plus, you won't even have to change your diet with this plan, since you must only add or take away certain foods that you probably already know you should or shouldn't be eating. For instance, eating more nuts, dark green and leafy vegetables, and fish are great additions to your diet if you want to grow long and healthy hair. Also, you should try to get at least your recommended daily intake amount of water, which is about eight glasses on average. If you are more active, you can certainly drink more per day. Remember, the scalp is the foundation of any great head of hair. If your scalp isn't healthy, then your hair won't be healthy. Likewise, if your body is suffering from something, especially if it's a lack of something, your hair will be the first to show it. Take care of your whole body and your hair will benefit from it.
Next, you can try certain washes and shampoos that will benefit your hair and scalp. Washes are simple to make and they're extremely beneficial. Not only do they help cleanse your scalp, but they also relax you. Make an herbal wash by taking an herb or flower, such as chamomile, lavender, or rosemary, and boiling them in a pot of water. Allow the water to cool before you put it on your hair, so that the water won't scald you. Herbal washes are great because they add no residue to your scalp or hair, thus leaving it squeaky clean while giving it a hint of fragrance.
Finally, choose your shampoos wisely, and try to use all-natural conditioners when you can. Purchase shampoos that are free from sulfates, which are chemicals that are too harsh for the hair and scalp, leaving some scalps with dandruff, dryness, and even irritation. Using all-natural conditioners such as olive oil or coconut oil is great for growing hair naturally.
So, as you can see, growing your hair healthily and naturally just takes a little bit of work. However, the effort is well worth it when people tell you how beautiful your "crowning glory" is.
