These four grey walls hold
a thousand secrets from a
thousand raspy voices lost
in nonsense schemes that
lead to impotent dreams, as
mine are no different in my
cell counting the minutes I
never cared about before,
while the faint footsteps
echo with a solemn tone as
the prelude to a sad opera,
and I hear the guard announce
"It's time."
