What we can really do for Darfur is to understand the situation there, and the international interests in that region that are clashing by the hands of the poor people, who get to suffer in the end.
The truth about Darfur is that it's very rich with oil. It has access to the oil Fields in south-east of Libya, the fields in south of Sudan, and to the fields in east of Chad. People are living there peacefully for thousands of years, until the oil reserves in the world began to go short compared to the world's need for energy, then the problem started.
The fact is that different forces around the world support different sides of the conflict, for their own interest, and the crisis is being used to create international acceptance for using force to "stop" the violence in that region in order for these forces to have access to the resources it has.
Can you imagine that a resolution in the security council pushed by the United States to put some sanctions against Sudanese government to force it to put an end to the conflict in Darfur, was vetoed by China? Why is that?
China is the main importer for Sudanese oil, and the relations between the two countries are witnessing a gold period. A lot of new factories in Sudan are built and managed by Chinese engineers and trainers. This is a safe place for China, a safe future of growth for the economy with the reserves of oil in Sudan, and the "real" war in Darfur is between China and the United States, who's importing oil from Chad, and looking forward to expanding it's area of influence.
I'm not an anti-Americanist or anything, I don't hate America, I hate the American foreign policy. I was disappointed in America when George Bush was re-elected, and now that Obama is elected, I'm beginning to gain more respect for America. We see now how the Bush administration is admitting it lied about all the excuses to invade Iraq. We know for sure that Iraq has huge oil reserves, and we can clearly see that they were aiming to control the energy market, because the major forces in the world all know that the one who will control energy, will control the world, and they are fighting for that.
What we can really do is to understand the aims of the major powers in the world of creating, maintaining and propagandising the crisis of Darfur, to create a public opinion in the world that can make their control of the resources in that region possible, by making the intrusion in that region acceptable, and never allow them to drag their nations into another war that could've been prevented. If we just "knew" from the beginning why they want it to start. That of course beside any humanitarian help we can provide, for the victims of the conflict.
