There are many advantages of working at home. In fact, the pros of working from your home make it seem like a dream come true. There are no dresscodes, set hours or strict rules unless you so chose to install them.

The advantages of working from home include:

* I set my own hours. If I want to stay up late working, I can sleep in as late as I want. I am not ashamed to admit I slept until afternoon one luxurious day last week because I was awake at three in the morning writing. I work when my inspiration strikes. That is nice. Imagine, no predetermined schedule, and the flexablity to set your own hours. It is very nice.

* I can work on whatever I want to. I no longer find myself in situations of working with someone I dislike working with, I am not forced into company or employee meetings, or any political issues. I no longer have to sit through lunches with Jo, because if I didn't she would talk about me Sandy's lunch to get a great assignment. I really enjoy the freedom that working from home in my situation awards me.

* I can wear whatever I want to wear when working. I love working in jeans and t shirts, or my pajamas if the mood strikes. I love that I don't have to spend twenty minutes every morning on my hair and make up. I can look pretty and comfortable instead of made up these days. I like wearing ponytails sometimes, and for me, being able to dress comfortably is a major advantage. When you have to spend a fortune in terms of time and dollars to look perfect for work, it gets old. I think I look really great without designer clothes and hours of hair and make up time.

* I feel great when I earn money based on my imagination, knowledge and creativity instead of how much of my bosses butts I kissed that week. For me earning a living based on my brain is a reward almost!

* I really enjoy the fact that if I am not in the mood to write, I can take a long lunch or complete some of my chores. I like being able to step back until an idea comes to me. However, I also realise that I have to set aside a certain amount of time for writing, or I am not earning any money.

There are so many advantages to working from home, no matter what you are doing, writing, marketing, sales, consulting or whatever, but to be fair, there are disadvantages to working from home as well. Although for the most part, it does not get any better than earning a living from your home instead of a office or factory.
